“A person thinks all his ways are pure, but the LORD weighs motives” (Proverbs 16:2, GW).

Man thinks he is well-motivated in what he does, but it is God who truly knows our real motives. That is why repentance is so important in our spiritual growth.

We can often convince ourselves that our will is God's will, but is it really?

Seeking God in prayer and asking for clarity is the answer, as in the psalm: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting," (Psalm 139:23-24, NKJV).
