“The Lord wants weights and measures to be honest and every sale to be fair,” (Proverbs 16:11, GNB).

God does not want us to become cheaters, but to be honest in our dealings. In the ancient world, using one set of weights for favored clients and another for others resulted in cheating one party out of an honest measure of grain or other substance.

These days we deal with identity theft, manipulative employees, or companies who promise one thing, but fail to mention all the strings attached in the fine print. In our personal lives we can get into the habit of white lies and blurred lines, especially on social networks. Honesty is a choice and requires action.
